On October 5, Ty and did something crazy. We signed the papers, took out a loan, and bought ourselves a house. I never thought I'd be a home owner - especially not this young - but after searching for what seemed like forever and going through the hassle of applying for a loan, we finally dotted all the i's and crossed the t's. We found our home sweet home.
We didn't expect our first home to be perfect or even close to it. We just looked for a place in a safe neighborhood that would give us a little breathing room and some space for guests. And, finally, we found it. It had blue walls, yellowish cabinets, and the original hardwood floors. Beautiful.
For the last month, we've spent a lot of our spare time painting, cleaning, and trying to turn this home int a safe haven - somewhere we'd enjoy being at the end of the day. We still have a lot of work to do. There were issues with the roof, we need to have a pipe under the house replaced, and we had to change the wax ring under the toilet. Then I had Ty go in the crawlspace to double check it wasn't leaking. (Not the most glamorous of moments for either of us.)
BUT! I'm finally ready to share where we are now! Here are some pictures of the place. :)
We love having a space for ourselves and for visitors! It's been so fun to have Mom and Tucker over along with Ty's grandparents, great aunt, and cousins. So far. I'm excited to have friends over as we meet them and to show more of our family what we've been working on.
